Global Mining Review,
For over 30 years, Sulzer has been offering advice and technical information to visitors of the Elko Mining Expo, which is held annually in Nevada. At this year’s event, with an attendance of over 8000, Sulzer once again offered a range of maintenance solutions for rotating equipment and pumps in the challenging applications within the mining industry.
The Elko mining expo is a 2-day event that welcomes everyone involved in the mining industry. Experts in pumping technologies and mechanical repairs were on hand at the Sulzer booth to discuss the latest innovations and solutions that can improve productivity with current equipment, increase mean time between failures, and provide new equipment to match production requirements.
Sulzer offers a repair and maintenance service for pumps of all designs and manufacturers. Using its service centre network and repair facilities, Sulzer can deliver on-site maintenance as well as complete overhauls of large pumps, including reverse engineering of obsolete parts.
Support is available for all makes of motors, generators, compressors and steam turbines through Sulzer, which can provide extensive resources that are tailored to the mining industry. Aside from electromechanical repairs, Sulzer also offers an exchange programme for the GE 106Y wheel set which is used on one of the most widely operated mine haul trucks, the Komatsu 930E.
