NRW Holdings has announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, RCR Mining Technologies, have been awarded a new contract for the design and construction of a primary crushing plant (PCP) and overland conveyor (OLC) for the Queens Project at the Solomon Hub for Fortescue Metals Group. The contract has a combined value of approximately AUS$80 million.

After successful delivery of the Hopper 9 Crushing Facility at Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine in 2020, this award demonstrates the company’s engineering led delivery of innovative solutions. RCR is partnering with Primero Group, who will provide engineering support and construction services. Civil construction and earthworks will be undertaken by NRW’s Civil division.

NRW subsidiaries, RCR and DIAB Engineering, together with Primero, bring a strong design, manufacture and construction capability to this project with an engineering led philosophy of solutions and innovations.

NRW CEO, Jules Pemberton, said: “The integration of our new Minerals Energy and Technology team of RCR Mining Technologies, DIAB and Primero on a project such as this, combined with the NRW Civil and Mining team all focused on end-to-end deliver, is another milestone for the business.”
