Update from Altura on Tropical Cyclone Veronica

Preparations commenced during the latter part of last week to prepare the site and evacuate personnel. As at 6.00pm on 24 March 2019 the following measures had been implemented:

• Evacuation of site staff (except for a 23-person skeleton crew) completed by 4:00pm on 23 March 2019;
• Plant lock down and secure procedures have been completed; and
• Production of lithium concentrate ceased at shift completion on 23 March 2019.

On-site staff will monitor the situation and commence an orderly return to production once the cyclone alert status is removed. It was apparent throughout Saturday and Sunday that the destructive winds forecast did not occur in the project or camp site area and therefore damage to the plant is not expected at this stage.

The Pilbara Port Authority has also suspended vessel loading operations and the vessel ‘TS Delta’ that was scheduled to load Altura lithium concentrate has had to return to an offshore anchorage point (along with other vessels) until the weather event passes. The company will provide further updates if the situation changes.
