Global Mining Review,
If you are in the market for a surface excavation machine or trencher, it is important to work with industry experts — like Vermeer dealers — to help make the best decision for your business.
When you work with a Vermeer dealer, you get more than equipment. You get a trusted partner. Here is how Vermeer dealerships support customers.
Dealer Support
Your Vermeer dealer is dedicated to providing a premium experience — from helping you select the right equipment to providing parts and service when you need them most.
David Rubio, branch manager at Vermeer Mountain West, will do anything he can to help his customers — no matter where they are.
“When our customers need support, we go the extra mile,” he said. “Even if that means getting a service technician or salesperson on an airplane and out to their jobsite.”
Your dealer can also help onboard new operators or train crews on a new machine.
Rubio explained, “We often go to customer jobsites to observe their operators running the equipment. That way if we spot a problem or can give some tips on more efficient machine operation, we can do it instantly.”
Dealers are experts in the specialty excavation markets. When you have questions, you will work with someone experienced with trenchers or surface miners.
Purchasing from a dealership is just the start of a long-term relationship. When you need to purchase parts, upgrade equipment, add to your fleet, or get additional support; your dealer will be there.
Experienced Service Technicians
Vermeer technicians are ready to maintain equipment and troubleshoot problems. At a Vermeer dealership, your equipment is serviced by knowledgeable technicians dedicated to professional development. Vermeer dealerships create skilled and experienced service technicians through the Service Technician Certification Program (STCP). Participants go through rigorous testing as they work through three different certifications, all the way up to Master Technician status.
STCP is offered internationally and domestically. Program participation varies by dealership. Each domestic dealership network has at least one certified technician.
Versatile Options
Vermeer dealerships aren’t just reliable, they’re flexible too.
If you need to make a tight deadline, increase productivity or test out a new model, your dealership can provide rental equipment. At Vermeer Italia, it’s a popular option.
Giorgia Compagni, sales and marketing assistant at Vermeer Italia said, “Our customers are typically renting large trenchers and surface excavation machines if they’re working on short-term projects. Rental equipment can be utilized for a variety of projects like road construction, sewer, water and conduction installation. This versatility can be appealing for contractors who frequently work in new areas, as they can work with the closest dealership location to get their equipment quickly.”
If your local dealer doesn’t have a specific rental model, they’ll work with other Vermeer dealers to find what you need. Vermeer Italia customers can also rent pipeline trencher and surface miner operators.
“For rental customers who may only need the machine for a shorter project, it might be more efficient for them to rent an operator rather than take the time to find or train someone to run the machine,” explained Compagni.
Flexibility also includes maintenance and service. With the size of specialty excavation equipment, technicians typically travel to the jobsite to evaluate any issues.
“We have several service locations all over Italy, which allows our customers to work throughout the country and know that they’ll have a service location they can call if needed,” Compagni said. “Our team aims to provide support on-site as quickly as possible, whether it’s a service technician to address a machine issue or a product specialist to assist in the jobsite setup or training.”
If you’re in the market to purchase or rent specialty excavation equipment, Vermeer dealers can provide long-term advantages for your business. Contact your local dealer for more information.
