A strategic collaboration by industry peak bodies Austmine and AusIMM, the GRX25 theme ‘Embracing a New Era’ was a call to action for delegates to lean into the transformative change that is redefining the resources sector.

“GRX25 was a bold step – a new collaboration, a new concept, and a new platform for our industry – and it’s clear we’ve achieved what we set out to do,” said Austmine CEO Chris Gibbs Stewart. “We’ve showcased leadership on a global stage, sparked critical conversations on innovation and collaboration, and celebrated the excellence, export and ingenuity that define our sector.”

AusIMM CEO Stephen Durkin said: “AusIMM and Austmine have embarked on a transformative journey to create a groundbreaking, industry-owned international event. Our shared vision is for GRX to unite the METS sector, mining companies, and leading professionals from around the world to harness the innovative thinking required to advance our mighty industry as we step into an exciting new era.”

Across the three-day programme, attendees learnt from industry and innovation experts, experienced a high-tech exhibition, shared insights at action-orientated workshops, and connected with other change makers at numerous networking events.

At the GRX25 finale, Ms Gibbs Stewart and Mr Durkin thanked the many sponsors, delegates, exhibitors, and partners who made the inaugural event in Brisbane such a success and helping to build a strong base for future growth.

The CEOs announced that GRX26 would be hosted in Perth from 5 – 7 May 2026, reinforcing the two organisations’ shared commitment to accelerate a highly sophisticated, technology-led sector. The 2026 event will build on the momentum created through GRX25, and attract new audiences from around the world to see Australia’s leadership and innovation first-hand.

Ms Gibbs Stewart said: “The response from across the industry has been overwhelmingly positive. It’s clear there’s strong demand for a platform like GRX, where we can come together with purpose and ambition to shape the future. We’re excited to continue the journey in Perth next year and further elevate Australia’s leadership in mining and METS.”

Mr Durkin said: “We are thrilled to bring GRX to Perth in 2026, a city known for its mining excellence and pioneering METS innovation. We firmly believe that GRX will continue to grow its global impact and relevance, and become an international showcase for Australia’s world-class resources sector, professionals, and cutting-edge technology.”
