Metso has signed two multi-year Life Cycle Services (LCS) agreements with key mining customers: a 5-year contract with a major copper producer in South America and a 4-year contract with a major lead/zinc producer in Asia Pacific.

Metso secures two multi-year filtration Life Cycle Services contracts with key mining customers

The contracts support processing operations including parts, maintenance, and digital services for an extensive installed base of Larox® PF filters. This customer partnership approach reinforces long-term operational reliability, performance, and sustainability objectives.

The orders total around €60 million. The orders are booked on a phased basis, with the first parts recorded in the Minerals segment’s orders received for 1Q26.? One of the agreements is among the largest filtration LCS orders received by Metso to date.

Comprehensive service package

The agreements are based on Metso’s Larox® PF Plate Pack Management Service (PPMS) concept, part of the Metso Plus offering. Optimizing filtration performance across multiple sites, they combine planned maintenance, structure and programmed spare parts supply, repairs, upgrades, and expert support.

The service scope includes plate packs and spare parts, plate pack repairs and exchanges, service installation and technical support, filter upgrades and asset management solutions, as well as digital monitoring for condition tracking and performance optimisation. Local service support and workshop capabilities are also part of the agreements. "This long-term service model supports proactive maintenance, ensures predictable performance, and provides cost transparency, ultimately optimising cost per tonne in copper and base metals processing,” says Frank Araneda, Manager, LCS Solutions Sales at Metso.

Driving operational efficiency and advancing sustainability in copper and base metal production

The agreements support customers in improving plant availability, extending asset life, and ensuring consistent end-product quality. OEM repairs with warranty, upgrades, and digital tools enhance operational visibility and reduce unplanned downtime. The lifecycle approach also advances sustainability by promoting component reuse and reducing material consumption. Reconditioning filter components significantly lowers embedded carbon compared to new equipment, supporting customers’ climate and resource efficiency targets.

Strengthening long-term partnerships

“These agreements highlight the strength of combining our installed base with deep product knowledge and comprehensive aftermarket capabilities,” says Miika Tirkkonen, Senior Vice President, Beneficiation, Dewatering and Hydrometallurgy at Metso.

“With our local service presence, digital solutions, and proven life cycle concepts, we focus on helping customers improve reliability, increase predictability, and deliver measurable long-term value in their operations.” Metso’s Plate Pack Management Service redefines maintenance, moving from reactive to proactive, unlocking predictable performance, optimised asset management, and sustained cost-per-tonne efficiency.

Metso LCS focuses on a specific goal or continuous long-term performance improvement measured by mutually agreed, shared targets. The Metso LCS scope spans across the full Metso aftermarket and equipment offering. Metso’s LCS model is well established globally, with more than 600 active contracts currently supporting customers worldwide.
