Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited has awarded Weir an order to supply 14 GEHO® TZPM 2000 positive displacement (PD) pumps equipped with GLORES (GEHO Load Reduction System).

Weir secures significant order for its GEHO PD pumps

Lloyds Metals holds government-approved mining rights for approximately 56 million tpy of iron ore.

The order, secured in 1Q26, is part of the second phase of Lloyds Metals’ slurry pipeline project at its Surjagarh mine in Maharashtra.

In this phase of the project, the pipeline will stretch approximately 200 km and add a further 16 million tpy of capacity to the project.

Lloyds Metals estimates that the pipeline solution is projected to avoid 69% of carbon emissions compared with road transport, delivering a significantly cleaner and more sustainable logistics pathway.

Weir also supplied pumps for the first phase of the project – a 100 km pipeline with a capacity of 10 million tpy. This pipeline is now fully operational.

Tony Hendriks, Weir, Global Product Managers, GEHO said:

“This win shows the strength of our technology. GEHO TZPM 2000 PD pumps are purpose built for high-pressure, long-distance slurry pipelines. This proven, high-capacity slurry pump technology supports Lloyds Metals’ planned future capacity increases without introducing additional technical risk, while also helping them achieve their objective to reduce their dependence on conventional logistics and leverage slurry transport to reduce both costs and carbon emissions.”

Pushpal Banerjee, Weir, Indian Regional Manager, GEHO said:

“Lloyds Metals is an ambitious, innovative Indian company that Weir is proud to partner with on this project. We have a great relationship built on trust.

“Working closely together, we’ve devised a blueprint for success built on early engagement, collaboration and solid technical work. We look forward to continuing to work with Lloyds Metals on these vital projects in the future.”

P R Prasad, Lloyds Metals, Director – Projects said:

“Lloyds Metals worked closely with Weir to successfully deliver the first phase of this project. From the outset, Weir has worked hard to understand the project’s challenges and constraints, and, from that, we’ve had a shared vision about what we want to achieve.

“We have full confidence in the GEHO technology and the addition of GLORES further enhanced pump performance and reassured us that it was the best solution on the market.”
