Canadian mining house Eastport Ventures Inc has appointed Robin Birchall as CEO with immediate effect.

Birchall’s two decades of experience in investment banking within the mining sector, in addition to developing junior mining companies to material stages, ensure he is primed to lead Eastport in a pivotal year.

Having strategically acquired six mineral projects over the past seven years, Eastport has also developed a multi-million dollar investment arm.

Eastport’s interests span copper, uranium, rare earths, nickel, and diamonds. Birchall has successfully operated and led listed junior mining companies on the Toronto and London stock exchanges, with these companies having operational mines in Botswana, West Africa, and Russia.

Chairperson and founder Burns Singh Tennent-Bhohi commented: “We plan to achieve a public market listing and advance up to three drill programmes across three of our development-ready projects. This comes amid a market environment that remains uncertain in pricing, but certain of the rate at which ore reserves are depleting, while metal consumption continues to increase. Robin is one of the best global candidates in the junior mining industry and we are excited to welcome him as our new CEO. He has a clear vision of how he will work to augment future value for the Company and its shareholders.”

Birchall added: “I am thrilled to join Eastport at this pivotal moment in its development. With an excellent team and compelling projects, Eastport is strategically positioned in the premier mining jurisdiction. I look forward to assisting the company in raising the capital needed to advance these high-quality projects.”
