Airswift, global workforce services partner of choice for clients, contractors, and candidates in the global energy, process, infrastructure, mining and technology sectors, have announced a senior strategic appointment as it diversifies into the IT and technology sectors. Albert Kahlow, formally Regional Director Canada and Global Head of Sustainability, has been promoted to Global Sales Director, IT and Technology.

Kahlow will lead Airswift’s new IT and technology division to meet the growing demand for advanced technology skills in specific areas such as artificial intelligence (AI) and automation across a range of sectors. Based in Dubai, Kahlow will have access to key tech hubs within Canada, North America, Australasia and Europe, while being central to Middle East’s burgeoning tech scene. As well as supporting existing clients with sourcing the best IT and tech talent, Airswift will be expanding its workforce solutions into areas such as Fintech, Medtech, cloud and infrastructure, IoT, robotics, and software engineering.

Airswift is currently investing heavily in its own technology to enrich its offerings and enable sustainable growth of this new division. Kahlow will be working with regional directors and VPs across the business with the ambition to grow the practice into one of Airswift’s core markets as digitalisation sweeps across key areas such as mining and energy.

Kahlow commented: “I am honoured to be taking up this role at such a pivotal time. COVID-19 has rapidly accelerated the adoption of technology across sectors such as mining, infrastructure and energy, allowing remote operations to optimise processes and cut costs. For organisations to build resilience and expand, attracting the right people at the right time is imperative. For example, finding skillsets that understands complexities such as big data and IoT can improve safety and enhance decision making.

“Our rich history and global footprint provides us with the network and capabilities to place the best and often hard to find talent with niche skillsets into suitable roles.”

The announcement follows Airswift’s recent merger with Competentia to become the world’s most comprehensive technical workforce solutions provider. The company now has over 60 regional offices, with a team of 800 from 70 countries, and over 7000 contractors.
