Adani is pleased to announce a AUS$100 000 donation to Townsville’s flood recovery efforts.
The donation will be made to Mayor Jenny Hill’s and Townsville City Council’s nominated disaster recovery charity, GIVIT.
Adani Mining CEO Lucas Dow said many of the Adani team were affected by the floods.
“Our Regional Headquarters is in Townsville. Our people are living through the flood and many of their homes and those of their families have been flooded,” Dow said.
“It has been a long and difficult week for everyone in Townsville and there is a lot of work ahead to get the city cleaned up and homes repaired.
“We are part of the Townsville community and will be here for the long-term, so we hope this donation can help make a difference in getting the city back on its feet.
“Our employees will be joining the volunteers cleaning up the city from tomorrow.”
