Global Mining Review,
Greatland Gold has provided an exploration and development update for Havieron, its world class gold-copper project located in the Paterson Province of Western Australia (Newcrest Mining is Greatland’s 70% joint venture partner in Havieron).
Highlights
- Decline development: significant progress continues with total development to date now exceeding 2400 m including over 1700 m of advance in the main access decline (as of 16 June 2023).
- Exciting drilling results: infill drilling continues to intersect high grade gold and copper mineralisation within the lower levels of the South East Crescent with the results to be incorporated into the ongoing Feasibility Study.
- Recent results from the South East Crescent include:
- 32 m @ 6.6 g/t Au and 0.26% Cu from 1317 m
- 46 m @ 4.2 g/t Au and 0.16% Cu from 1229 m
- 62 m @ 2.2 g/t Au and 0.06% Cu from 1349 m.
- 148 m @ 1.7 g/t Au and 0.25% Cu from 1205 m.
Greatland Managing Director, Shaun Day, commented: “We continue to be very pleased with the ongoing progress of the Havieron development which has now surpassed a total of more than 2400 metres. Our most recent drilling affirms the impressive widths and high grade nature of the South East Crescent. Particularly encouraging is confirmation of continuous mineralisation through the link zone which connects the South East Crescent with the Eastern Breccia. The Havieron team is focused on incorporating these impressive results into an optimised Feasibility Study.”
