World Mining Congress 2026 adds 37 confirmed speakers, including CEOs, innovation gurus, and authors

The congress, which will take place from 24 – 26 June 2026 in Lima, will feature senior executives from global mining companies who will address the sector’s key challenges in a context marked by growing demand for critical minerals and the need to accelerate the development of new projects.
Confirmed speakers include business leaders such as Iván Arriagada (Antofagasta), Jorge Gómez (Collahuasi), Mikael Staffas (Boliden), and Natascha Viljoen (Newmont), who will share their perspectives on the future of the industry, the security of mineral supply and the role of mining in the energy transition. In addition, Julia Torreblanca, Eva Arias and Roque Benavides will also be part of the Congress.
The programme will also feature influential figures from the sector such as Robert Friedland, one of the most recognised entrepreneurs in global mining, and Mark Cutifani, former CEO of Anglo American and an international reference in business leadership in the industry.
Innovation and technology
The agenda of this major event will also include leaders who are driving the transformation of the industry. Specialists in innovation, sustainability and technology from different fields will participate, including Flavia Tata Nardini, Michelle Ash, Kurt House, Amparo Cornejo, and Rohitesh Dhawan.
The plenary conference program will also feature renowned neuroscientist Beau Lotto, an expert in creativity and innovation applied to decision-making, as well as Oxford University professor Bent Flyvbjerg, widely regarded as the world’s leading authority on the study of megaprojects.
The World Mining Congress 2026 will bring together business leaders, experts, authorities and representatives from the global mining industry to discuss the future of the sector under the vision 'Mining for the Future,' centred on three pillars: technology, trust, and transformation.
Over three days at the Lima Convention Center, key topics for the industry will be addressed, including the development of critical minerals, technological innovation, sustainability, and efficiency in the execution of large-scale mining projects.
