Nutrien initiates temporary inventory shutdowns at three potash mines

Nutrien Ltd. has announced that it expects to proactively take up to 8-week inventory shutdowns at its Allan, Lanigan and Vanscoy potash mines in Saskatchewan, Canada, during 4Q19.

The production downtime is in response to a short-term slowdown in global potash markets. If all three potash facilities were to remain idled for the full 8 weeks, potash production could be reduced by approximately 700 000 t and potash annual EBITDA could be reduced by US$100 – US$150 million.

Codelco and Quiborax create joint venture to advance in obtaining CEOL that will allow the exploitation of lithium in the Ascotán Salt Flat

Codelco and Quiborax announced the creation of the company Minera Ascotán SpA to advance in obtaining the Special Lithium Operation Contract (CEOL) in the Ascotán Salt Flat, located in the mountain range of the Antofagasta Region.
