Dyno Nobel, a global leader in commercial explosives, continues to expand its electronic detonator line with their new DigiShot XR series designed with extreme shock resistance. The series includes three detonators: DigiShot XR, DigiShot Plus XR, and DigiShot Plus XRS.
Dyno Nobel’s new detonators improve upon the industry’s current offerings with tailored technologies built to perform in extreme conditions. In high-dynamic shock environments where detonator failure is possible, DigiShot XR, DigiShot Plus XR, and DigiShot Plus XRS offer shock and EMP resistance through designed stress relief, increased hoop strength, precise component placement, and material selection.
In addition to shock and EMP resistance, DigiShot Plus XR and DigiShot Plus XRS provide a 30% increase in programmable time delay for enhanced design flexibility. DigiShot Plus XRS also features a hardened shell, offering additional dynamic shock resistance in even the most challenging conditions.
“Eliminating misfires and ensuring detonators can perform at a high-level in any environment is an essential part of safety in mining,” said Braden Lusk, Dyno Nobel’s Chief Technology and Marketing Officer. “Our unique shock-resistant detonators provide our customers with the safety and reliability they have come to expect from Dyno Nobel.”
