The courses will take place on 22 and 23 June 2026, as a prelude to the Congress (24 – 26 June), at the headquarters of the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP), in Lima. Delivered in intensive 4 and 8 hour formats, these training sessions will allow participants to delve into highly relevant topics under the guidance of renowned specialists. Strategic training

In a context defined by technological innovation and the growing global demand for critical minerals, continuous professional development has become a decisive factor in maintaining industry competitiveness.

The WMC 2026 short courses address strategic areas shaping the future of mining, including artificial intelligence applied to mining operations, critical minerals, decarbonisation, and next-generation exploration. Participants will gain practical tools and up-to-date knowledge to tackle the technical, environmental, and operational challenges facing the sector amid a rapidly evolving global landscape.

The sessions will be delivered by international experts from academia, industry, and specialised organisations, who will share real-world case studies, applied methodologies, and industry-leading tools aligned with current market demands.

Certification and global networking

Participants will receive an official certificate issued by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP), an institution with more than 82 years of experience promoting knowledge and best practices within the mining industry.

In addition, the courses will provide a valuable international networking platform, bringing together professionals, researchers, and industry leaders from around the world in an environment designed to foster technical exchange and strategic collaboration.
