Global Mining Review,
Situated in the heart of a key Canadian mining region, the facility will support growing customer demand – particularly in the copper and gold sectors. Metso will offer OEM-certified on-site inspections, turnkey service solutions, and off-site repairs. The centre is expected to be fully operational by early 2026.
Justin Ayotte, Vice President, Canada Sales and Service at Metso, says:
“The investment decision, announced in September 2024, was very well received by our customers. Metso’s strengthened local presence will enable faster repairs, shorter turnaround times, and increased sustainability by reducing transportation distances. We’re grateful for our customers’ trust, and we remain committed to becoming the preferred service provider in the industry.”
The centre will service a wide range of mining equipment from pit to port, including crushing, grinding, screening, filtration, flotation, slurry handling, thickening, clarifying, loading and hauling solutions, chute lining, and more. It will also offer warehousing capabilities for spare and wear parts.
Between 2022 and 2025, Metso has been recognised as a Great Place to Work in Canada, reflecting its commitment to fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture. The new facility will further contribute to this effort by creating employment opportunities for skilled professionals, such as service engineers and technical specialists.
Metso is committed to the continuous development of its service and repair capabilities to ensure close support for customers worldwide. As part of this commitment, the expansion of the service centre and the opening of a new training centre in Mesa, Arizona, USA, are scheduled for completion in 2026. Alongside the new facility in Prince George, these investments will further strengthen Metso’s service footprint and enhance customer support across North America.
Metso has an extensive service centre network with over 3700 field services professionals, technical support, and more than 140 service locations on six continents. Metso supports its customers around the globe with a wide range of installation, commissioning, inspection, and maintenance services.
