Investing in African Mining Indaba 2026

09 February 2026 - 12 February 2026

Taking place 9 – 12 February 2026 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), Mining Indaba is once again set to be Africa’s premier gathering for mining leaders, investors, governments, service providers, community representatives and innovators.

Theme and purpose

The theme for 2026 is “Stronger Together: Progress through Partnerships.” It reflects a deliberate call to move beyond silos — to build collaborative relationships among governments, the private sector, downstream industries, communities, and civil society — in order to unlock the full potential of Africa’s mining value chain, accelerate growth, and ensure inclusive, sustainable development.

What’s new / expanded for 2026

  • Expanded exhibition footprint: The exhibition will span both CTICC 1 and 2, accommodating more exhibitors, technology showcases, and innovation- focused content.
  • Focus on downstream buyer engagement: Industries that consume minerals (automotive, renewable energy, manufacturing, medical, aerospace, etc.) will be more deeply involved.
  • Young Professionals / Skills Development: There’s renewed emphasis on bringing in emerging leaders, PhD students, and new talent to engage in the conversations, and build capacity.
  • Integration of sustainability across programmes: Rather than having sustainability as a separate track, it will be interwoven into all sessions, from policy and technology to investment and operations.

Who attends and why

MI26 will draw over 10 500 delegates including mining company executives, global investors, government officials, service providers, downstream buyers, community stakeholders, and indigenous representatives.

Participants attend to:

  • Discover and partner on investment opportunities
  • Navigate changing regulatory, policy and market landscapes
  • Gain insight into new technologies and sustainable practices
  • Forge alliances across segments of the mining value chain
  • Amplify community inclusion, equity and local benefit
