Volvo CE and dealer achieve hauler uptime in Indonesia

An Indonesian contractor supporting the mining sector has achieved over 90% uptime for its new fleet of R100E rigid haulers from Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE).

To celebrate the achievement, local Volvo CE leadership presented a special reward to dealer ITU.

The contractor, one of Indonesia’s largest contributors supporting the country’s mining sector, provides machines and personnel to high-production job sites. Machine uptime is critical, so when the company purchased 20 Volvo CE R100E rigid haulers at the end of 2022, it set out to achieve 92% machine availability. To meet this ambitious target the company added a Gold Volvo Service Contract (VSC) to be provided by local dealer PT Indotruck Utama (ITU).

The Gold Volvo Service Contract offers the highest level of support available from Volvo CE. This ensures comprehensive maintenance coverage for the contractor’s fleet of R100E haulers over seven years and covers 35 000 hours of operation. As part of the agreement, local dealer ITU and Volvo CE are providing 24/7 support, an on-site parts store, and regular visits from both the technology and product teams. This personalised after-care, together with Volvo CE’s reliability, means the R100E machines were able to achieve their 92% uptime target. This success underscores the positive collaboration between ITU, Volvo CE, and their customer, elevating Volvo CE’s position to new heights in Indonesia’s mining industry.

To celebrate the productivity milestone, Volvo CE Indonesia rewarded its dealer ITU with a commemorative plaque. Gerrit Lambert, Head of Market Indonesia, said:

“ITU did an excellent job in ensuring optimal performance levels for these R100E units, with excellent support from Volvo CE’s tech and factory teams. This collaborative approach emphasises our firm commitment to excellence, reliability, and customer satisfaction in all of our service efforts.”
