Australian tungsten development company, Tungsten Mining has received environmental approvals from the Federal and State governments for the proposed development of the Mt Mulgine Tungsten project.
The government has advised the company that, under the Environment Protection and Diversity Act 1999, it has assessed the company’s proposed action to clear native vegetation to allow for open mining pits, processing facilities, offices, water storage facilities and the overall environmental cost of running the mine.
Since this advice, they have declared that the proposed activities do not constitute a controlled action and no further assessment of Tungsten Mining is required.
The Company also submitted a proposal to the Western Australia State Government, however the government processed the proposal through the Environmental Protection Authority, and has now proposed that the Mt Mulgine project does not require formal assessment. The EPA has stated that all aspects of the project can be managed safely and without major damage to the environment.
The environmental approvals, coupled with the recent agreement to acquire a modular processing plant, has confirmed the Company’s commitment to deliver its strategic development plan of producing tungsten concentrate by 2018.
