To optimise the transport of mined ore to both permanent and temporary storage facilities, cyclic-flow technology complexes are widely applied, especially as the open pit deepens, reducing both time and operational costs.
As part of the investment project 'Muruntau Open Pit Development – Phase V, Stage I', construction and installation work for a cyclic-flow technology complex on the southern flank of the pit have been completed, and the complex has now been commissioned at full capacity. Currently, two crushing-loading units, a 1500 m main conveyor, and a 900 m overburden conveyor transport 25 000 m3 of mined rock per day.
“With the commissioning of this automated cyclic-flow complex at the Muruntau mine, the haulage distance for large-capacity dump trucks has been reduced by 1550 m. This has also resulted in a significant decrease in diesel fuel consumption, as well as reductions in dust and gas emissions into the atmosphere,” said Khurshidbek Negov, Chief Mechanical Engineer of NMMC’s Central Administration Unit.
Within the framework of the Localisation Programme, all equipment required for the complex was manufactured at the Navoi Machinery Plant and the Zarafshan Repair & Mechanical Plant. Construction and installation were carried out by the Zarafshan Construction Department.
