Metso and Gübretas Maden Yatirimlari A.S. have signed an agreement for a complete gold ore processing plant for phase II of the Sogut project in Bilecik province in Türkiye.
The value of the order is approximately €70 million. Equipment orders under the agreement will be booked in Minerals segment’s orders received once the contracts are effective. This is expected to take place in December 2024 or January 2025.
The Sogut plant will feature, for example, Metso’s NordwheelerTM jaw crushing unit, SelectTM SAG and ball mills, TankCell® flotation cells in different sizes, HRT High Rate Thickening units and Larox® PF pressure filters, as well as slurry pumps and gold room equipment. The delivery also includes a Courier® 8X SL analyser, PSI® particle size analysers and samplers, as well as the Proscon automation system. In addition, Metso will deliver complete plant engineering and advisory services for installation, commissioning, and training.
“This greenfield project will have a major contribution to Turkish mining business and economy. It was important for the Gübretas Maden Yatirimlari A.S. team to select the best technology to ensure top-class performance. We believe that Metso’s proven gold processing technologies will provide this. An additional criterion for us was Metso’s service capabilities and their experienced local team”, says Halit Semih Demircan, General Manager of Gübretas Maden Yatirimlari A.S.
“We have worked in tight collaboration with Gübretas Maden Yatirimlari A.S. to develop the best possible flowsheet for processing this deposit’s ore to gold dore and concentrate. Basic engineering for the plant and gold pressure oxidation has already been completed, and we are looking forward to continuing in phase II with equipment deliveries, together with the Gübretas Maden Yatirimlari A.S. team”, explains Mert Katkay, regional Minerals Sales Director at Metso.
