East Mining Company's SoIntsevksy mine produces 3.3 million t of coal in first half of 2018

3.3 million t of coal were produced from the Solntsevsky Coal Mine, Russia, owned by the East Mining Company in the first half of this year, 240% higher than the indicators of the same period last year. In 2017, comparable volumes were achieved by mid-November.

According to the implemented production plan, 8 million t is expected to be produced by the end of 2018. To this end, the East Mining Company has significantly expanded the fleet of quarry equipment. The mine received new dump trucks with the carrying capacity of 220 and 180 t. In May, two new excavators, a Komatsu PC-4000 and one Hitachi EX-3600 with buckets of 22-23 mcapacity, were put into operation, enabling an increase in intensity of stripping work. Since the beginning of the year more than 21 million mof rock have been worked.

The company is also implementing an investment project to develop coal mining and shipment in the Uglegorsk district. A 28 km conveyor for delivery of coal from Solntsevsky Coal Mine to its own marine terminal in Shakhtersk is being constructed.
