Worley has been appointed by Anglo Asian Mining PLC to deliver feasibility studies for the Xarxar and Garadag copper deposits in Azerbaijan.

The studies will assess development options for copper heap leach processing and solvent extraction-electrowinning (SX-EW), a process that produces marketable copper metal directly at the mine site.

This approach has the potential to support in-country copper production, reducing the need for export and downstream smelting. The Xarxar study is expected to be completed by mid-2027, with the Garadag study following in the first half of 2028.

The engagement forms part of Anglo Asian Mining’s broader growth strategy to expand its copper portfolio and transition to a multi-asset, mid-tier copper and gold producer.

In parallel, Anglo Asian Mining is progressing an extensive 2026 – 2027 drilling programme of approximately 90 000 m across its portfolio. This includes drilling activities to support both resource expansion and feasibility studies at Xarxar and Garadag.

Worley will bring its global expertise in minerals processing, project delivery, and asset development to support the advancement of these projects through key study phases.
