Lycopodium has been awarded an Engineering and Construction Management Services contract from PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (PT AMNT) for the Batu Hijau Process Plant Expansion project in Indonesia.

Batu Hijau is an opencast copper-gold mine located on the island of Sumbawa in the province of West Nusa Tenggara, about 1500 km east of Jakarta.

It is the second largest copper and gold mine in Indonesia and has produced more than 8 billion lbs of copper and over 8.5 million troy oz of gold since production commenced in 2000.

In May 2020, Lycopodium was awarded the front end engineering and design (FEED) for the development of additional mineral processing capacity to more than double existing production, including primary crushing station, overland conveyor, coarse ore stockpile and reclaim, milling with pebble crushing, flotation circuits and concentrate and tailings pipelines.

In July 2021, Lycopodium was subsequently awarded the Professional Engineering and Management Services (PMS) scope to facilitate the process plant expansion.

This latest award is for detailed engineering and construction management services, valued at over AUS$36 million, for the development of several key process plant areas, commencing January 2022 for two years.

Lycopodium Ltd’s Managing Director, Peter De Leo, said: “We are very pleased to have this opportunity to continue to support PT AMNT with the expansion of the Batu Hijau mine as it progresses through the construction stage.”
