Rio Tinto’s Kestrel mine office moves to Emerald

Rio Tinto’s Kestrel mine has a new town office in Emerald, Queensland.

According to Rio Tinto, Kestrel mine is looking forward to a playing a closer role in the community after relocating its town office to a central Emerald location.

Formerly located on Hospital Road, the new office has opened at 9 King Street on the corner of Roberts Street and Selma Road.

Kestrel Mine general manager Ryan Harnden said: “We are pleased with this move which lifts our presence in the local community and will allow us greater options in terms of working and meeting spaces.”

The new fit-for-purpose office boasts theatre rooms able to accommodate up to 130 people, five offices, open workstation space and a large parking area.

The office will be used for employee workshops and training, leader forums and other planned stakeholder meetings.

Community response to the relocation of the town office has been positive with note made at a recent community forum that occupation of the office space is a great sign of growth and prosperity in Emerald.
